Was fun, went out with my AK versus AA in round 20 on the 3rd day. From memory, as I just got home and it is 01:00 AM right now, but it may have been round 21. Highlights: Men the Master taking my first pot I lost in 2 days. 2 Hands later, I bumped it up with pocket KK. He asked if I was trying to needle him. I told him no, it is just that he took my only pot I lost at showdown, and I wanted my chips back. :-)
But all in all, not a bad cash for only my second year going to the WSOP. Was 10th in chips at one point in Day 1A, and that was scary. I have never had to stack so many chips in front of me and still try to find a place to lift my cards to view my hand. :-)
I don't know if anyone knows this, but my first live game was at Mako's Bar/Lounge with No Fee's quarterly game. There was like 130 players that day a few years ago. I can say that this league has been a major stepping stone to getting to this day, my first cash in the WSOP.
Thank you Don & Bernadette!

Donald Bly--5/18/2010 November 2009 GPF Championship Tournament Re-Cap
Eight person single table satellite tournaments began at 9 AM on Saturday November 14th, with many players that were just short of qualifying earning enough points to gain entry into the Main Event. Many others earned enough extra points to qualify for larger starting stacks or rebuy possibilities. Nearly 20 satellite tournaments were conducted prior to the Main Event.
Dispensing chips to players began at 11:00 AM while the last of the satellite tournaments finished up. Using a spreadsheet program to ensure that every player received the proper chip count made the process orderly and stress free. Once the sign-in process had completed everyone gathered in front of the Halftime Sports Saloon for a group photo and the issueing of seating cards.
After some brief announcements and an explanation of the League's new, simplfied point tracking system the Main Event got underway at 12:30 PM. With blinds beginning at 25/50 and lasting for 30 minutes players had ample opportunity to wait for quality hands in their bid to claim the title of Washington State GPF Amateur Poker Champion. The eventual winner, Donald Bly, folded hands for nearly 2 1/2 hours without winning a single hand before the cards turned and he was able to pull in some modest pots.
1st Place - Donald Bly 2nd Place - Gordon McLeod 3rd Place - Thomas Haley 4th Place - Melissa Kitterman 5th Place - Michael Loeffler 6th Place - Mary Anne Richey 7th Place - Donna Dilger 8th Place - Austin Miller
Players competed for their choice of a winner take all seat at a World Series of Poker bracelet event tournament and $500 in cash for expenses.or an all cash payout. Ultimately, after Bly and McLeod had exchanged the chip lead several times in a heads up battle, the decision was made to take the all cash payout and chop the prize money 50/50. At this point, it was all about bragging rights and the right to have their name added to the Robert Richey Memorial Cup Trophy. The two played on.
McLeod played solid poker and had Bly on the ropes after McLeod's trip 3's took down Bly's pair of dueces in a major pot. At this point, Bly, without enough chips left to cover the big blind need some major luck and solid play to survive. He got the luck and hit a streak of good starting hands that enabled him to build his stack to just a bit more than McLeods. With both players agressively pursuing the title of State Champion the final hand came down to Bly's A6 vs McLeod's K5. With both players all-in pre-flop, Bly hit the ace on the flop which held up through the turn and the river, giving him the title.
Bad beat of the day.... Mike Loeffler's KK vs Donald Bly's all-in AK with Bly hitting an Ace on the river..
Donald Bly--5/14/2010 NLOP points are awarded to the month in which the Saturday end of week falls. So if play for the week spans two months the points are awarded to the following month.
Donald Bly--5/14/2010 Okay Tim... so I'm calendar challenged...
You currently have 488 points, if you played online at least once every week you will get 12 points for perfect attendance. That's 2 points for each month which will bring you in at exactly 500 points.
Next season it might not be as easy to take down the top online spots each week as more people figure out that playing online has a very liberal point award system.
Congratulations and see you on SATURDAY MAY 15th
Tim Fierro--5/1/2010 Even I am LMAO...!!!! April 30th. :-) DaPokerGnome
Tim Fierro--5/1/2010 "New Season Begins Sunday May 1st"
OK, I'll bite....... Which one? :-)
New Season Begins Today, Saturday 05/01/10, Or Tomorrow Sunday 05/02/10?
BTW, I have 473 points right now, and all that is left is to add whatever points I earn for the week. Is the end of the week/season over last night May 30th, or do we get points up until tonight's NLOP weekly close? I was hoping to get 500 points for the season, but the most I can get now is only 493 if I get 1st this week. I now have a goal for next season. :-)

Donald Bly--4/5/2010 To Troy and Tim:
When I first posted up the data I had, as I explained in on the front page of the website, I inadvertently posted the standings in a backwards fashion. IE: player 36 got 1st and player 35 got 2nd etc... this was my error and I cleared the data base and re-entered the standings in the correct fashion. However at that point I was still missing 6 weeks of point data which I have since recieved and input. Currently as of April 5, 2010 I do not have the past two weeks of data which will be sent by NLOP soon and input as soon as I can.
When the final week in April is played and I have those points input, and prior to the GPF championship, I will post a file for all to see the raw data in total.
Troy has mentioned that there are several instances where placement is not recorded each week. I must remind everyone that not all people playing with us at NLOP are also members of the No Fee Texas Holdem Amateur Poker league. We have people playing that are in Portugal, Sweden, Brazil and a host of other countries as well. When those individuals place in the top 20 their points do not get recorded in the NFTF's website, because, well, they won't be coming to play in the GPF Championship tournament anyway.
I hope this clears up some of the confusion. We do our very best to keep the most accurate records as possible. Most of this would not be an issue at all if NLOP's automated feed had not quit working.
I believe that since your original posts around the 17th/18th of March you have seen the corrections made. I also realize that in excess of about 210 points the need for additional points becomes almost moot. However, as our online player base becomes larger, placing in the top 20 will become harder and next season we will not see online players achieving quite so high a position, unless they are consistently in the top 10, in the NFTH leaderboard.
Troy Cable--3/17/2010 I did some research on the NLOP scores and found at least 4 to 6 places each week that are not recorded on the leaderboard at all. I have a spreadsheet of the data for January thru Feb 14 but got blocked by Don's e-mail provider
Tim Fierro--3/17/2010 Don, I think I have a solution. While I believe I have about 300-350 GPF points since November, I don't believe I need that many points for the May tournament.
Worst case scenario is 210 GPF points max needed and that is if everything went wrong.
100 PTS to Start Tourney with 20k Chips 30 PTS to rebuy if something misfired :-( 30 PTS to rebuy again if some really is misfiring :-) 50 PTS to add-on at level 4 --- 210 PTS total at most being spent to play
If the above is right, it would be hard for someone to use up more than 210 GPF points, and all points above it will be wiped clean anyway on May 1st. So even if one should have 300+ GPF points, they won't (probably can't) use them all.
Can we agree that you can tell from your data that I have at least earned 210 points? It won't be my true total of what I have earned, but at least it will give me some GPF points to play with in May. And any points above 210 is really just bragging rights anyway for 1st place in the rankings.
So unless there is any prize for being first in GPF points for a season, at least recognition of enough points to play in May would be nice. If there is a prize for 1st place in GPF points for a season, then we really need to talk to NLOP and get an accurate count to clarify this.
Tim Fierro (that is with 2 R's, home page shows 1 R) DaPokerGnome
Troy Cable--3/16/2010 I have to agree, there is something wrong. I too have only 37 points posted. I know I haven't got the points as Tim has, but I should have way more. I also see Dakotablue is only a few points higher and he was at the top for some weeks too.
13 weeks from Nov to Feb 14, if 1 participation point that leaves 24 pts; divide by 14, that averages less than 2 pts per week, I know I have had higher standings than that.
13 tournaments since November? Is that 1 for each week on the GPF-NLOP leaderboard? 0 wins, what is considered a tournament win? I might be answering my own question, but clarify anyway; after looking at another's scores , a win would be earning 1st place in tghe GPF-NLOP weekly point race, right?
Anyway, I have to have placed higher than 21st (to get a participation point) each week. Also, there wasn't any carry over points this season? that would give me some more points there.
Tim Fierro--3/14/2010 Thank you Don for working on the site so that the NLOP weekly top point earners can get properly listed in the league rankings, it is appreciated.
However, maybe I just don't show up somehow when you get the datafeed. I see that I have 37 points. :-(
I have been a top 3 weekly point earner for the past few months. That should add up to 20, 19, or 18 points each week. Why does it only show 37 points? I think you have more than 2 weeks of data going back to November?
Yes, I have waited a long time for a ranking, but now that I have it, I have to wonder if it was all for nothing. Why try to play all those tournaments; win as many as I can, finish the best I can, each and every week through thousands of players weekly; When all I have to do is go play 2 sitNgo's the day of the GPF and finish 2nd in each, or a first place finish. Seems easier to do that, that to sift through thousands of players on-line for months to get the same result.
I have worked hard for the past few months to get weekly points so I can have some chips at the May tournament, what a bummer that it doesn't show that I have very many for the work accomplished.
If I get 37 points for tourneys played November, December, January, February, and up to now; I might as well stop playing the on-line game and just wait for the day of the GPF tourney to try to earn any more GPF points.
Obviously I am doing something wrong to only have 37 points. :-)

Thank you for the Congratulations on last week's win, it's cool to get those NLOP checks in the mail.
Donald Bly--3/13/2010 Tim... I definitely saw you at the top of the National leader board. Tocay is Sunday, I've had the NLOP points through Feb 14th for a week now.
Today I entered the points for the week ending Jan 3rd, there were a few discrepencies that we have to correct before we move on to entering the remainder of the points. Should be completely updated by Sunday March 14th. At least the points through Feb 14th.
NLOP's manual feed is several weeks behind... don't ask me why. We've waited for NLOP to correct the automated data feed for 8 months which they assure me will be accomplished middle of April.
It takes an extra ordinary amount of effort to cross reference these points to the right person when we get a manual feed. Our automated feed is keyed on screen name and the manual feed gives us email address as the key.
Thank you everyone for your patience.
Tim Fierro--3/10/2010 Donald Puts On The Home Page.... NLOP Point Updates - Each Monday I have been assured by NLOP that they will provide a manual update each Monday until such time that they have the automated feed repaired. This should make a marked difference in the league's overal point standings so be prepared to see your place in the rankings change, possibly in a dramatic way.
---------
Thank you! I have been waiting for the day, and it may finally be coming, to where I will see my name somewhere in the league's top 1000. LOL
I just got done playing tonight's 7:30 PM (PST) $100 tourney, and took first place. Brought in about 191,000 points. That should be enough to maintain my top 3 finishes each week for the past few months.
I look forward to seeing points for us who play online finally displayed in the rankings here on the site.
Thank you again for looking into it and getting worked out.
DaPokerGnome
Tim Fierro--2/19/2010 And this week is probably the worst. ;-(
NLOP is having trouble on the site, and this week's points are not even displayed for us there. I have tried hard since the new year to make sure I get top 3 each week, but this week, I have a feeling I won't make it.
I hope they fix the site soon.......
Tim
Donald Bly--2/14/2010 Yes Tim... eventually we'll get the online points in. It is my fault. I have the points through December. It is a painful process to do this manually. We have been hoping that NLOP would get their program fixed so we could write code once for inputing the points.
